5 Things you can’t forget to put on your baby registry

Ok so you have the perfect crib, glider, and stroller. Now what? Here are five things you shouldn’t forget to add to your registry.

  1. hot / cold gel packs

These packs filled with gel are essential for nursing parents. They can be put in the microwave or the freezer for relief, and they can also be used for perineal tearing. (You can also add balms, creams, pads, and any other postpartum healing products.)

  2. newborn nipples

Most standard bottles for babies come with size one nipples. For many newborns, this can be too much. So add a pack of preemie, newborn, or size zero nipples, depending on the brand.

  3. stroller hook

A stroller hook is basically a large carabiner that can be used to attach bags to your stroller. These are great for a small adventure with your baby or a trip to the grocery store.

  4. curtains

A set of curtains (regular or blackout) are a great addition to a nursery. They can serve as a signal to your baby that it’s time to go to sleep or wake up and play.

  5. a doula

If you want birth or postpartum support but aren’t sure you can afford it, add this to your registry! You can do this on online registries like Babylist or amazing websites like Be Her Village.

Hi! I'm Gigi; I'm a postpartum doula, mother to three toddlers, including twins, and a wife to my high school sweetheart. I’m a #swiftie who loves cheesy novels.

As a former teacher, I bring realistic, evidence-based, and actionable advice (and LOTS of handouts.) I help families get the tools they need to prepare, so once baby arrives, they can focus on resting and bonding instead of researching or stressing. I’m here to streamline the newborn learning curve and help birth parents, partners, and other family members. There isn’t ONE way to have and raise a little human. I’m here to guide parents to find THEIR way so that they can thrive in the fourth trimester and beyond.
